General Information about the Trip

Mindful hiking, taking pauses, practicing yoga and meditation, and simply letting your soul unwind. Enjoy being together while also finding and savoring your quiet moments. All this and much more awaits you on the Georgia Adventure Tour.

The still largely untouched expanses of the Caucasus Mountains invite you to enjoy the abundance of nature and draw new strength from it. Step out of your daily routine and into a revitalizing week for body, mind, and soul.

The special thing about this round trip is that within a week, you will get to know different places, gain insight into the nature and culture of Georgia, and bring peace to your mind and body.
Additionally, a unique and unforgettable experience awaits you. You will have the opportunity (optional) to explore and enjoy the fabulous landscape on horseback.

The focus of the hiking tour is to arrive, unwind, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and experience the country in its diversity and authenticity.

This week is all about letting go, breathing deeply, and relaxing. We will take care of the rest!

Highlights

  • Stop & swim in the Black Sea

  • Visit natural hot springs

  • Tour: the old towns of Kutaisi & Mestia

  • Visit ancient mountain villages, monasteries & churches

Meditation, Yoga & Mindful Hiking

Meditation, yoga, mindfulness exercises, and conscious hiking in nature will bring you peace and a sense of unity and harmony.

The almost undiscovered mountain world of the Caucasus, the border between Europe and Asia, is the perfect place to connect with yourself and nature, inviting you to discover life from a new perspective.

We will also walk part of a daily hike in silence. This sharpens your senses and allows you to perceive nature in its fullness. Silence and walking help you follow and sort your thoughts, leading to more inner clarity and opening space for new ideas.

The yoga sessions are suitable for all levels, and no previous experience is necessary. The classes (from gentle to activating; styles: Hatha, Hatha Flow, Restorative & Yin Yoga) perfectly prepare you for the hikes and give you the necessary energy boost!

Certainly, the rejuvenating beauty of nature and the mindfulness practices will undoubtedly provide you with new inspiration and continue to enrich your daily life!

Region: Greater Caucasus Mountains

Upper Svaneti is a region rich in history and culture and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. The Swanetians living there are a unique Georgian ethnic group with ancient tribal customs and their own language.

People and nature still live in harmony here. There is no trace of hustle and high tech. All you see are gigantic and partly snow-covered mountain peaks, bright sunshine, and starry nights that invite you to dream.

Tbilisi

The idyllic capital is built on rocks and surrounded by mountain ranges. It reflects the rich culture and history of the country. Alongside Christian Orthodox churches and oriental monuments, you find remnants of the Soviet Union paired with modern, abstract architecture. A cultural melting pot! Tbilisi means "place of warm springs."
You can immerse yourself in this ancient tradition in the famous oriental bath district. Tbilisi, as the locals lovingly call it, is definitely worth an (extended) trip and rounds off the adventure in an impressive way.
You will stay in a beautiful, centrally located city villa with a rooftop terrace.

Guesthouses & Hotels

We are mainly accommodated in traditional Georgian guesthouses, which bring you closer to the charm and traditions of the country in a special way. These are small, Georgian family businesses. In cities like Tbilisi and Kutaisi, we stay in hotels or in a boutique house.

Example: Shuan Guesthouse in Mazeri

The cozy and traditional SHUAN Guesthouse is located at the foot of Ushba (a double peak reaching up to 4700 m) in Mazeri, a charming little village in the heart of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Green meadows surrounded by snow-covered mountain peaks, waterfalls, mountain streams, mineral springs, and delicious homemade regional dishes make the stay particularly relaxing and unique. There are various room options, most of them with separate beds.

Anke Lenz

A few years ago, I visited Georgia for the first time. I fulfilled my dream of a multi-day horseback ride through the solitude of the high mountains. The diversity, authenticity, and warmth of the country deeply impressed me and captivated me. For me, the Caucasus offers the perfect place to find peace, distance from everyday life, practice yoga and meditation, and enjoy the wonder of nature and its rich culture.
Look forward to an inner and outer journey!

Tour Guide Team in Georgia

Soul_&_Sun_Yoga_Erlebnisreise Georgien_Misha Profil.jpg

Misha Zelazko from East Beast Tours & his local team

Misha feels particularly connected to the mountain region of Svaneti and calls this region, full of mystical legends and customs, his home of choice. For over 12 years, Misha has been living and working as a tour guide in this region (when he is not in Berlin) and knows it like the back of his hand. His focus is on sustainable tourism in the Caucasus. He knows the area around the Caucasus like the back of his hand, and his knowledge of the multifaceted culture, the eventful history, and its impact on today's Georgia is very comprehensive.
Besides, other guides from Misha’s team will accompany us on the tour.

Look forward to a joint, adventurous, and above all, unforgettable journey through the Caucasus!

FAQ / Important Notes

  • The nearest airport is in Kutaisi, the starting point of our trip. Flights are available from €60 per one-way trip without luggage (booking about six weeks in advance is usually the cheapest).

    Flights:
Direct flights to Kutaisi are available, for example, with Wizz Air (approx. 4 hours from Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg, Memmingen, Frankfurt).

If the departure date from your nearest airport doesn’t work, you can also travel by train to one of the mentioned airports. Please note that Wizz Air only flies on certain days from these locations.

From Kutaisi Airport, a taxi to the hotel can be arranged upon request (duration: approx. 20 minutes, cost: approx. €10-18).

    Extended Travel Option:
You can also book a round-trip flight to Kutaisi and take the airport shuttle bus from Tbilisi City directly to Kutaisi Airport on the return trip. The shuttle departs 3-4 hours before departure and is very reliable. Duration: approx. 3 hours, cost: approx. €10. More information and booking at: www.georgianbus.com.

On the way there, you can take a bus or minivan from Tbilisi City (e.g., from the Didube bus station) to Kutaisi City. The bus runs every 30 minutes, and tickets can only be purchased on-site. Duration: approx. 3-3.5 hours, cost: approx. €8.

    Alternative Flight Options:
Larger airlines like Lufthansa, Eurowings, and Turkish Airlines also offer direct flights to Kutaisi or Tbilisi in some cases.

Alternatively, you can choose a multi-city flight or consult a travel agency for advice. The information provided is subject to change.

  • The trip is suitable for beginners as well as advanced yogis & yoginis, hiking enthusiasts and solo travellers.

You don't need to be particularly experienced for the activities. However, a certain level of fitness as well as physical and mental health are generally important in order to take part in a round trip and sporting activities.

All activities are optional and are tailored to the needs of the participants.
You can take part in the activities as and when you feel like it.
The most important thing is a certain spirit of adventure & discovery and curiosity about other cultures and ways of life.

  • The duration of the day hikes is a maximum of 7-8 hours and covers up to 21 km. On certain tours, the group may be split at higher altitudes, with one part of the group continuing with Misha while the other part returns with Anke. Additionally, sufficient breaks are taken during the hikes, and a moderate pace is maintained. The hikes usually involve an ascent, which requires a certain level of fitness. Part of the hike will also be a high-altitude trek.

    Example of a hike:

    Trail parameters to Glacier/Waterfall

    Distance: 18.2 km / 13 km

    Trail type: Out and back

    Max. altitude: 2492 m / 2020 m

    Min. altitude: 1639 m / 1639 m

    Total ascent: 873 m / 330 m

    Total descent: 873 m / 330 m

The special aspect of these long hikes is that you gradually enter a state of flow and become fully present in the moment. You can look forward to amazing tours!

  • You can get the necessary energy boost from the rich and delicious Georgian cuisine, which offers you a special taste experience. The dishes on our journey are vegetarian, following yogic philosophy. In Georgia, food is cooked using what grows in the garden and the surrounding area. Look forward to fresh and diverse cuisine! In the remote villages, you will be fully catered for accommodation-wise. In larger towns, there are many delicious restaurants to explore together (included) or you can venture out on your own on some evenings.

Additionally, you have the option to make yourself a sandwich after breakfast for the hike.

  • The horseback ride is only bookable on-site through third-party providers, approx. €30-60 / 2-6 hours, depending on the length of the tour, group size, and number of guides).

On-site, you will be informed about everything you need to know. You should have some prior experience with horseback riding, even though the horses are accustomed to visitors. If you are a complete beginner, you can also book an additional guide.

  • In the mountains:

During our travel dates, the temperature ranges between +7°C and 26°C. The sun warms you during the day, while at night, you can enjoy the slightly cooler air under the clear starry sky. It's also possible for nights to get very cold or for occasional rain.

Therefore, it's recommended to bring good, weatherproof clothing (e.g., hat, rain jacket, sturdy footwear, etc.). Otherwise, the layered look is suitable, allowing you to add or remove layers as needed.

    In the cities:

In Kutaisi and Tbilisi, on the other hand, it can get very hot. Here, breathable clothing appropriate for the city and another culture is recommended.

  • For entry, German and Austrian citizens need a valid passport or national identity card. Swiss citizens require a valid passport.

  • Spots are limited and the trip is very popular. It therefore makes sense to book early.

The number of participants is limited to a small group, so you will spend a week in a very personal and pleasant atmosphere.

From a group size of 6 people.

The final confirmation of the trip will be sent at least two months before departure as soon as the minimum number of participants has been reached. Should this not be the case, the entire tour price will be refunded.
